One of the keys to your Kung Fu training success is effective strikes. Kick, punches, sweeps etc. Even with weapons the more efficient the more deadly. We will start here with the basics: The Punch. In particular the wing chun chain punch. It is one of the most efficient kung fu techniques you will learn and very difficult to defend against.
Essentially it is a straight punch concentrated on a specific area of our opponents centerline and repeated continuously. This technique to be successful needs its practitioner to match their intensity with their intention. If you do it half assed it wont work.
You need to commit to it and you will overwhelm your opponent. The repeated attack concentrated on the one point is the key to its success.
The centre line is the imaginary line down the centre of your body. The key to chain punching at the centre line is to dominate this crucual space. You are dominating here which makes it almost impossible for your opponent to counter attack. They are too occupied trying to defend themselves that the only escape they have to back step and to try and out maneuver you by moving around. This is where your intention is required to press on with the attack and not lose your advantage.
Best way to practice this chain punch is to stand in front of a mirror. Focus on your nose and punch straight from your sternum to the nose retract your right fist then extend our left and do this repeatedly- then speedup this process. Then step away from the mirror and by focusing on a point ahead of you and continue with this practice. Yes the chain punch is a valuable arsenal to your kung fu training.
