Belfort plays the waiting game: Fedor or Santiago?

This is starting to get ridiculous. When Josh Barnett was dumped from Affliction: Trilogy because of a positive drug test, the promotion scrambled to find an opponent. They turned first to Vitor Belfort, a light heavyweight who’s now fighting down at 185 pounds, to face the best heavyweight in the world, Fedor Emelianenko. Belfort and his camp agreed almost immediately. That was Tuesday evening. It’s now midday Friday. Belfort still doesn’t know if he’s fighting 185-pound Jorge Santiago or 230-pound Fedor. This is the kind of thing that makes mixed martial arts look bad and with the each hour that goes by, it lessens any chance that Belfort may pull the upset if he does fight Fedor.

The plan for Belfort was to walk in at around 210 pounds against Fedor. He told Cagewriter that he only weighed 195 late Thursday afternoon:

Put the Belfort stuff aside, how can Affliction even promote a card without knowing who’s in the main event? This thing has disaster written all over it.
