MMA Fight Shorts Fusion 2 by Sprawl Sprawl Fusion 2 MMA Fight Shorts Review

You know as well as I that there are tons of MMA shorts are on the market right now. They all have their own reason for ‘being the best MMA Shorts‘, but it is usually crap. From the ultra cool Velcro closures to the 55 way stretching material that will allow you to throw a triple spin heal reverse kick all while in mid-air!

With all that being said Sprawl MMA shorts have been around since the beginning so they haven’t had to try and steal the market with outrageous marketing comments like I mentioned before. Here is what Sprawl themselves have to say about the Sprawl Fusion 2 MMA fighting shorts.

The Sprawl Fusion 2 delivers the MMA fighter unmatched durability and features:

  • A wider waistband for increased comfort and stability.
  • A repositioned side slit to reduce ride up when working from the guard.
  • Heavier construction for a new standard of durability.

Some other nice things about these shorts is that they are sweat, dirt, and blood resistant so it doesn’t matter how much Bob from the gym bleeds when you hit him his blood wont’s stain your shorts.   There is a new slit in these that help them not to ride up when you are in guard and this really works.

My initial take on these shorts is that they are a good quality pair of shorts like we have come to expect from Sprawl.  For the price they are probably the best quality shorts on the market you can buy.  You don’t have to worry about having to replace them when you are buying these shorts because they will last the test of time.

Venum Ice Spider MMA Fight Shorts Review

I was excited (even more then the Hayabusa MMA shorts and the Sprawl Fusion MMA shorts) when I found out I would be reviewing the Venum Ice Spider MMA Fight Shorts.  A pair of my favorite shorts for training are the an older pair of Venum shorts I have had for over 3 years.  To this day I would choose them over any other newer shorts, at least that was up to this point.  I was hoping that the Venum Ice Spider Shorts would hold up to the stringent criteria I have for MMA shorts.  So, the question is did they?

I used the Venum Spider MMA fight shorts to workout, train in MMA, and just for hanging out to see what I thought of them in each type of setting.  It goes without saying that the Venum Ice shorts look awesome, however they actually feel even more comfortable then they look.  What I was impressed with is that when I was rolling on the mat they didn’t bunch up like so many other shorts.  You always end up pulling them down in between each drill as they bunch up in the crotch area.  However, these Venum shorts don’t have that issue and they allowed me to move like I didn’t even have shorts on!

In short I have found a new pair of favorite MMA shorts.  Venum seems to have the magic touch when it comes to shorts.

Con’s of the Venum MMA Fight Shorts

  • Had a friend of mine get the wrong size and they couldn’t get tight enough around his waste.  Just make sure you get the right size!
  • Since they are white the look dirty pretty quick.

Pro’s of the Venum MMA Fight Shorts

  • They dry very quickly
  • Made with ultra breathable material
  • Super strength velcro fastener

Hayabusa MMA Fight Shorts Review Hayabusa MMA Fight Shorts Review

I have been very excited for the last 4 weeks when I found out that I was going to be doing a product review on the Haybusa MMA Fight shortsI have seen these bad boy’s online and always like the look of them, but the question is would I like the feel of them?

Product Information:

  • Pro Performance stretch panel and split side seams for unrestricted range of motion
  • Containes Hayabusa’s exclusive Guardlock inner grip waistband system

Construction of these MMA Fight Shorts

Just like other Hayabusa MMA gear items I have gotten in the past the construction and quality is never in any question.  Haybusa is Excellent quality in just about every product they make.   They have a sublaminated logo on the fight shorts which will stand up to all the toughest training you can throw at these shorts. These shorts do have a spilt seam, and I would say one that is slightly longer than most. They also feature a stretch panel  Now, for one of my favorite things about these shorts, the closure system.

The closure system or ‘zipper system’ on these is unlike any other system out there. It is the standard hook and loop style Velcro, however the difference is that there is a drawstring system which allows for the tightest fit possible!  And if that is not enough for you it has a rubber running along the inside of the waist band which Hayabusa calls their “Guardlock” system. There is also some elastic in the waistband just to get that perfect fit.  These shorts are made out of  100% polyester(90% Mechanical 10% Performance)and are manufactured in Taiwan.

Color Options (White, Grey, Black)

Overall Review of the Hayabusa Fight Shorts

These are without a doubt very high quality shorts, and you will be happy that you bought them because they will last a long time. The reason I couldn’t give them a five star rating is because of their sizing. In most MMA fight shorts I wear a waist 32, so that is what I purchased, but they were very tight when I received them in the mail and I didn’t have time to order another pair before this review was to be complete. Knowing that, if you’re searching for a brand new set of shorts, then please have a look at these Hayabusa Fight Shorts. However, make sure you adjust for one size large than you are used too. They can be found in a few different colors: white, black, and grey. I truly rate these among the best shorts I’ve ever been trained in. They may be bought for around $65 to $75.

“What is Channel Lock Technology and does it work?”

Sprawl Fusion Stretch MMA Shorts

Sprawl Fusion Stretch MMA Shorts

If you’ve got a problem with your shorts being lose or you are always having to pull them up then this channel lock technology is for you. These shorts won’t fall down or get pulled down when grappling with your partner. As mentioned earlier, the quality of the fabric is superb in terms of durability, wicks moisture and sweat away and now features a 4-way stretch panel which only makes it more comfortable. (97% polyester, 3% spandex) These shorts don’t tend to ride up whenever you’re on the ground and the split seams on both sides make them a bit easier when you want to throw some high kicks.

Also, they’re a little shorter compared to V-flex series which makes them give you a less baggy feel (You need to consider that when buying them and picking out your size).

SPRAWL shorts, the company themselves mentions that that you should order a size less than your normal waistline because they are cut keeping space for the groin area giving you extra room for those high kicks and split legged sprawling moves. Similar to the other shorts from SPRAWL, you get both a drawstring as well as an elastic waist which makes it extremely nice and give you that feeling of safety.

Pro’s of the SPRAWL Fusion Shorts

  • Elastic waistband
  • Rubber strip in waist
  • New Fit
  • 4 way material
  • Overall Quality

Con’s of the SPRAWL Fusion Shorts

  • Had to undo the Velcro fly to put on (not a game breaker)
  • Can be a little too tight around waist
